Story of Míša:

Míša was born in our house as one of nine puppies. His mother was our beautiful female dog Alba, and his father was XICO from the De Alba de los Danzantes kennel. From the moment he was born, it was clear that he was an exceptional and very promissing  male with a great future ahead of him.

We would have kept him, but we already had our beautiful male Arán, and it was hard to imagine that, under the conditions of our small breeding kennel (we don't have any outdoor kennels; the dogs live together with us in the house), we would be not able to keep two dominant males together. And so, with a heavy heart, I decided to sell him to a person who made an excellent impression on us. He promised that he would take Míša to dog shows and have him undergo mandatory and optional health testing so that he could become a stud male.

At first, everything worked perfectly according to the agreement. Míša took part in dog shows and was successful; he had not only exceptional charisma, but was also a beautiful and very typical representative of the breed, with a characteristic masculine and well filled head and a typical Pyrenean expression (like his amazing mum Alba). He was excellently presented in the show ring by my long-time friend Bára, who handled him. I was always helpful to his new owner, offering breeding advice. All of his health tests (hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, CMR1, and DM) were perfect.Míša was therefore officially approved for breeding, and his presentation at the breeding evaluation was once again handled by my friend Bára.Then the coronavirus epidemic came.At that time, an aspiring breeder contacted me and asked me to arrange a mating between her female and Míša.

I am someone who likes to help beginners, so I arranged the mating with Míša's owner and, as his breeder, I was personally present at the mating as well, since the other breeder had no experience with it. I also personally helped that lady during the birth of the puppies. In the meantime, "something" began to change. Míša's new owner used to visit us regularly, but suddenly his friendly attitude toward me changed—something was going on...He no longer wanted to go to shows with Míša, even though it only involved transporting him there.

Everything else was taken care of by Bára, who presented Míša in the ring.In good faith and selflessly, I arranged another mating for Míša. This time, it involved a female from abroad. Míša was no longer seen at shows, and a dog that isn't seen is as if it didn't exist… I continued to present him on my website.

In the meantime, that "new" breeder expressed interest in having her female mated with my stud male Arán. In the meantime, Arán had three litters—one in the Netherlands, another in the Czech Republic, and the last in my own kennel.By that time, he was already a veteran dog, but he was still fertile and able to mate. That "new" breeder unleashed hell. She was extremely "offended" that I had "dared" to use my own dog for breeding. All three females came from quality Spanish lines, which I also focus on in my breeding program. She harassed both me and Bára with unsolicited messages and phone calls, so I cut off all contact with her.

And what a strange coincidence… at the same time, Míša's owner also stopped communicating with both me and Bára.Unfortunately, I never saw Míša "live" again after that. It hurt me deeply—he was a dog from my breeding.

As a breeder, I devote myself to my puppies 24/7, and I care immensely about their fate. I try to stay in touch wit all new owners throughout the entire lives of "my puppies."I only learned that Míša had died more than a month after his passing. And only by chance, as Bára contacted the owner directly. He told her this sad news.I know that such sad things happen to other breeders as well.Nevertheless, I will always regret that I arranged Míša's first mating.I am sorry that I lost the opportunity to see an exceptional dog from my breeding.I am also very sorry that the potential of such an exceptional dog remained unused. And even I, as his breeder, did not have the opportunity to use him in my breeding program.Even so, Míša will remain in my memories as "my little Míša," who was born in our living room and to whom I devoted (just like to his siblings) several months of my personal life.

I will never forget this beautiful and kind dog, and he will always have a place in my heart. R.I.P. Míša ❤
